What is Abuse? What is Abuse in Accounting? As soon as you hear the words “accounting abuse” how many companies or people come to mind??? News stories constantly tell us of another occurrence of abuse. U.S. Chamber of Commerce estimates occupational fraud/abuse costs over $50 billion annually. 1/3 of business failures are directly related to employee theft. 75% of all employees have stolen from their employers at least once and half of these employees have stolen repeatedly.
